MIPS: An Efficient Global Parametrization Method

چکیده
The problem of parametrizing 3D data points is fundamental for many applications in computer-aided geometric design, e.g. surface fitting, texture mapping, and remeshing. We present a new method for constructing a global parametrization of a triangulated (topologically disklike) surface over a planar region with minimal distortion. In contrast to many existing approaches which need the boundary of the parametrization to be fixed in advance, the boundary develops naturally with this new algorithm. §

As-rigid-as-possible spherical parametrization
In this paper, we present an efficient approach for parameterizing a genus-zero triangular mesh onto the sphere with an optimal radius in an as-rigid-as-possible (ARAP) manner, which is an extension of planar ARAP parametrization approach to spherical domain. We analyze the smooth and discrete ARAP energy and formulate our spherical parametrization energy from the discrete ARAP energy. The solu...

Recently, the first author introduced a new approach for the numerical quadrature of surface integrals in the context of boundary element methods. The handling of singularities is an essential feature. It is assumed that a global parametrization P of the surface is given as a subroutine and that P is not accessible analytically. Of particular interest are parametrizations which are based on aut...

In this paper, a computational approach is adopted for solving a multi-objective optimal control problem (MOOCP) formulation of optimal drug scheduling in human immunodeficiency (HIV) virus infected by individuals. The MOOCP, which uses a mathematical model of HIV infection, has some incompatible objectives. The objectives are maximizing the survival time of patients, the level of D...
متن کاملFast Isometric Parametrization of 3D Triangular Mesh
In this paper we describe a new mesh parametrization method that is both computationally efficient and yields minimized distance errors. The method has four steps. First, the multidimensional scaling is used to locally flatten each vertex. Second, an optimal method is used to compute the linear reconstructing weights of each vertex with respect to its neighbours. Thirdly, a spectral decompositi...

1. Abstract In this contribution an innovative method for shape optimization with parametrization directly on FE mesh is proposed. The major shortcomings of CAD-free parametrization are discussed and global filter techniques are presented in this context. A global filter for shape optimization with FE-parametrization is developed and applied to numerical examples of basic shapes. The influence ...
